Igor Ozeruga is an intellectual property attorney and a registered patent and trademark practitioner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He works with clients across all areas of intellectual property law, helping them secure, enforce, and strategically leverage their rights to support innovation, protect brand integrity, and generate long-term business value.
Igor assists with obtaining and enforcing patents, trademarks, and copyrights, and works closely with brands—particularly in the eCommerce space—to strengthen market positioning, control online sales channels, and scale growth through well-designed IP and brand protection programs. In addition to his IP work, Igor advises clients on broader business matters, including licensing, commercialization, regulatory compliance, and authorized seller programs. He also represents clients in IP disputes and enforcement actions, including federal litigation, PTAB proceedings, and online takedown campaigns across platforms such as Amazon, Meta, TikTok, and Shopify.
Igor helps brands build, protect, and enforce their presence across digital marketplaces and social platforms. He designs comprehensive trademark programs tailored to support long-term brand positioning and enforcement, particularly for Amazon sellers, DTC brands, and digital content creators.
Igor regularly advises clients on content-related enforcement, including reporting and removing stolen content, false advertising, and harmful misinformation across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. His enforcement process combines platform-based reporting, copyright and trademark takedown procedures, and follow-up with cease-and-desist communications when needed. He has extensive experience with content removal based on copyright infringement, defamation, and harmful or misleading statements.
To strengthen enforcement capabilities, Igor prepares and negotiates contracts with content creators, influencers, and affiliates. These agreements clarify IP ownership, expand enforceable rights, and allow brands to request takedowns of unauthorized uses more effectively.
His work also includes advising on brand control frameworks such as authorized reseller programs, Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policies, and integration of IP rights into channel governance strategies.
Igor has extensive experience helping clients obtain, maintain, and enforce intellectual property rights across the U.S. and internationally. He has drafted and prosecuted many patent and trademark applications in diverse industries and technologies, including software, electrical systems, semiconductor devices, physiological systems, sensors, optics, medical devices, quantum mechanics, and electromechanical systems.
He works with clients to develop enforceable IP portfolios that align with product roadmaps, go-to-market plans, and competitive strategies. His patent work includes utility and design patent filings, international applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), and U.S. national phase prosecution.
His trademark practice includes brand name clearance, global filing strategy, prosecution, and office action responses. Igor also assists with copyright registration and enforcement for original works such as videos, graphics, marketing campaigns, product manuals, and packaging.
For clients managing sensitive business information or proprietary systems, Igor provides guidance on trade secret protection through internal protocols, employee NDAs, contractor agreements, and misappropriation response strategies.
Igor provides strategic support and direct representation in intellectual property disputes. He handles infringement analysis, cease-and-desist campaigns, and litigation preparation across a wide range of forums. His experience includes post grand proceedings (e.g., inter partes review (IPR)) and reexamination proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), federal trademark oppositions and cancellations, and enforcement of rights across digital commerce and content platforms.
He frequently works with clients to address urgent online infringement issues, including counterfeit product listings, unauthorized sellers, and misuse of brand assets on eCommerce and social platforms. His integrated approach combines legal tools, data analysis, and marketplace rules to maximize disruption of infringers and protect revenue.
